LSAMP Activity

North Star Scholars and Fellows

Students will be encouraged to continue their academic career and pursue an advanced degree through participation in special events (AISES retreats, Nobel conference) and throughundergraduate research opportunities that will introduce students to discovery-based science.

Students participating in the applied structural genomics effort (undergraduate research) will gain experience in the following techniques:

  • PCR cloning
  • Protein over-expression
  • Large-scale protein purification
  • Biophysical characterization (e.g. LC-MS)
  • Crystallization
