To meet the challenge of doubling the number of underrepresented graduates in STEM fields, Stokes Alliances across the nation offer programs and opportunities aimed at helping students just like you to succeed academically by inviting you to be a member of the STEM community.

Introduction to Student Involvement in the North Star STEM Alliance

Ways to get involved:

• North Star Scholar
• North Star Fellow
• Travel funding
• Undergraduate Research Fellow
• Request a mentor via MentorNet.
• Apply for funding to go to a national meeting or professional society meeting.

Attend events such as:

• Fall Kick Off
• Nobel Conference at Gustavus Adolphus College
• North Star STEM Alliance Research Symposium
• North Star AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society)
• Institution-specific gatherings--found on individual partner pages.
• 4-year College visit for Transfer Students

Target audience: African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American students with U.S. citizenship or permanent residency pursuing baccalaureate degrees.
