Short biography

I graduated from Marshfield High School in Marshfield, WI before attending the University of Minnesota. While here I intend to receive a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in medical devices. After graduation I plan to continue my education possibly with med-school. My ultimate goal is to use my interests in science and technology to be able to help people and in some way improve their standard of living.

Research and collaborators

I am currently working with Professor Sean C. Garrick in his Computational Transport Phenomena Lab. My research is to explore the process of extracting mercury from the exhaust of coal burning power plants by the means of injecting larger carbon particles into the exhaust systems. I will be performing computer simulations and creating visual representations of this process in an effort to better understand how we can maximize the level of mercury extraction. By lessening the amount of mercury admissions we can make this energy source a much cleaner and environmentally safe means of power production.
