Short biography

Hi! My name is Jaye and I will be a Junior at Macalester this fall. I'm originally from Chicago, IL and I love reading, music, languages, and learning.

Research and collaborators

This Summer, I will be monitoring DNA repair and calculating the repair ratio between two different kinds of nicotine adducts that attach to DNA and cause damage. These will be monitored by tagging the samples of these adducts with radioactive phosphorus and documenting the levels of radioactivity for the repaired versus unmodified DNA fragments. My PI is Lisa Peterson and I'm working under post-doc Janel Warmka in the Cancer Center.
