North Star Scholars
North Star Scholars advance their academic success by participating in and contributing to North Star Alliance programs.
- For attending a minimum number of events or developing a research proposal they receive a stipend.
- Larger stipends are available for scholars participating in undergraduate research.
- Scholars also become eligible to apply for North Star Fellow positions.
Selection criteria for North Star Scholars based on holistic review of applications:
- Declaration of a major or expressed intent to major in a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) discipline
- Willingness to participate and contribute to activities of the Alliance
- Evidence of a commitment to the goal of broadening participation in STEM
